BHARAT RATNA
‘Bharat Ratna’, the highest civilian award of India, was instituted in the year 1954.
Any person without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex is eligible for these awards.
It is awarded for exceptional service towards advancement of Art, Literature and Science, and in recognition of public service of the highest order.
The recommendations for Bharat Ratna are made by the Prime Minister himself to the President. No formal recommendations for this are necessary.
The number of annual awards is restricted to a maximum of three in a particular year.
On conferment of the award, the recipient receives a Sanad (certificate) signed by the President and a medallion.
The award does not carry any monetary grant.
In terms of Article 18 (1) of the Constitution, the award cannot be used as a prefix or suffix to the recipient’s name. However, should an award winner consider it necessary, he/she may use the following expression in their bio-data/letterhead/visiting card etc. to indicate that he/she is a recipient of the award: –
‘Awarded Bharat Ratna by the President’
or
‘Recipient of Bharat Ratna award’

Dhyan Chand Singh was an Indian Hockey player, and considered to be the all time greatest player the game of Hockey has ever seen the world over………….so my honest vote for BHARAT RATNA goes to Dhyan chand…..JAI HIND

bharat ratna is n’t just like a simple award.it shoud be give to them those deserve it.my vote for chandra shekhar ajaad,sachin tendulkar.

Viswanathan Anand is the right person to get Bharat ratna compared to others like sachin

Viswanathan Anand > Sachin.
He won 106 international medals. 6 times chess oscar winner. 3 times world champion and current champion also.So
He is fit more than sachin and others.
I think Dr. Bhimrav ambedkar deserving this prize

Jagjit Singhji should be awarded the Bharat Ratna for his work and contribution to Indian & Urdu poetry. Moreover, he has supported innumerable NGOs for the betterment of the society all through his career.

Amitabh Bachchan never deserve Bharat Ratna i think major Dhyan Chand or actor Dilip Kumar better choice for bharat ratna.
agar apko bharat ratna ka samman karna hai to amitabh bachchan ko yeh samman nahi dena chahiya kisi bhi mayne mai amitabh bachchan is is samman ke layak hai hi nahi.

Bharat Ratna is a great award and it should be awarded the person deserve it actually. I mean sachin should be awarded not amitabh.

still Raj kapoor, kishore kumar,Dilip kr,etc could not get Bharat Ratna. then how can u say amitabh deserve it. amitabh is nothing if medha and some fan follower does not support.

He has received it in the year 1997.

Nahi wo logo ko dena chaiye jo apne jeb bharkar khud ko mahan batate ho ,
(Abitabh bachan,sharukh khan ,lata mangeshkar , , in jaise logo ko bharat ratna dekar sarkar ne badi bhul ki hai . . Aur mahan log jaise dr. Bhimrao ambedkar jaise mahan hasti ko in k barabar laya gaya. .)

In this case amitabh does not fit at all.
